Rapper The Game Facing Felony Charges
Posted on September 5, 2007
The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, is facing felony charges after he allegedly pulled a gun during a pickup basketball game in South Los Angeles. The charges include counts of making criminal threats, possession of a firearm in a school zone and exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors.
On February 24, there was apparently a fight at an educational center in which authorities allege that The Game retrieved a gun from his Cadillac Escalade and threatened to shoot a play on the opposing team. Taylor remains free on $50,000 bail. If convicted, he could face more than five years in prison.
The Game rose to fame in 2005 following the success of his debut album, The Documentary and his two Grammy nominations. Since then, The Game is considered to be a driving force in bringing back the West Coast hip hop scene.
