Paris Hilton is making headlines with news that her legal representatives have reached a settlement agreement in a $10 million defamation lawsuit involving diamond heiress-actress Zeta Graff.

Graff claimed in the defamation suit that Hilton spread lies about her to The New York Post in 2005. The paper did report that Graff went “berzerk” at a club, tried to strangle Hilton, and tried to steal her diamond necklace. Hilton denied that she was behind The New York Post reports, but her former publicist, Rob Shuter, stated in a deposition that Hilton pushed him to give the sources to the paper.

At the center of the discord between the two heiresses was Paris Lastsis, a Greek shipping heir. Graff once dated Latsis and Hilton was at one time engaged to him.

Graff’s attorney released a statement that read, “Both parties are glad that the matter could be resolved without the time and expense of a trial.”
