Tom Snyder, who pioneered the late-late network TV talk show, has died from complications of leukimia.

Snyder died Sunday in San Francisco, his longtime producer and friend Mike Horowicz told The Associated Press on Monday.

“Tom was a fighter,” Horowicz said. “I know he had tried many different treatments.”
Prickly and ego-driven, Snyder conducted numerous memorable interviews as host of NBC’s “Tomorrow,” which followed Johnny Carson’s “Tonight” show from 1973 to ‘82. A signature was the constant billowing of cigarette smoke around his head.
Snyder’s style, his show’s set and the show itself marked an abrupt change at 1 a.m. from Carson’s program. Snyder might joke with the crew in the sparsely appointed studio, but he was more likely to joust with guests such as the irascible science fiction writer Harlan Ellison.Snyder had John Lennon’s final televised interview (April 1975) and U2’s first U.S. television appearance in June 1981.

One of his most riveting interviews was with Charles Manson, who would go from a calm demeanor to acting like a wild-eyed, insanity-spouting mass murderer and back again.

Conrad ‘Barron’ Hilton had planned to give out over 2.5 billion in inhereitance to his family members but has now changed his mind due to Paris Hiltons image.  According to Jerry Oppenheimer, author of House Of Hilton, the heiress will no longer inherit $59 million dollars from her billionaire grandfather, Conrad ‘Barron’ Hilton. 

“He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris,” says Jerry Oppenheimer, author of House Of Hilton. “He doesn’t want to leave unearned wealth to his family.” 

Supposedly the Large amount of money that was supposed to go to Paris and her other family members will now be donated to a charity.

Porn Queen Jenna Jameson hand picked Johansson to play her during her transformation years fro ballet dancer to stripper, before hitting it big in the porn industry. 

Jameson says, “I tapped up Scarlett for the part and I’m very excited about the film

“It was my decision not to play the role because I’ve lived that tale already and anyone can play themselves.”

In the latest issue of GQ men’s magazine, Sir Richard Branson talks about joining the mile-high club and taking cocaine, ectasy, and Viagra.  Nice Combo!

The British entrepreneur said “It was “every man’s dream”, adding that he had to wipe handprints off the toilet mirror following the high-flying high jinks…

“I was sitting in economy on a Freddie Laker flight, next to this very attractive lady, as we headed to Los Angeles,” said the boss of Virgin Atlantic.

“We got chatting and it went a bit further. And it was every man’s dream, to be honest. I was about 19,” the tycoon boasted.

About the drugs-

“(With Viagra) I had to tie something around my trousers for the rest of the next day to make sure nothing showed.”

He admitted: “I took ecstasy once… but it didn’t have a massive effect on me.”

Of cocaine, he added: “I suspect I’ve tried it, yes.”

And he said Keith Richards, the hell-raising Rolling Stones guitarist, was the “first person to teach me how to roll a joint”.

“I haven’t tried skunk (a strong variety of cannabis); I have smoked cannabis, though. I went with my son on his gap year, for God’s sake. We learnt to surf and had some nights where we laughed our heads off for eight hours.”

Nice to know who “really” owns Virgin Airlines…

The Simpsons Movie opened with $71.9 million in ticket sales in U.S. and Canadian theaters this weekend, leading at the box office.

The Movie made 29.1 million on its 1st day of coming to theatres, this pushed ‘I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry’ down into the No. 2 spot with $19.06 million in sales, ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ into third at $17.07 million and Hairspray to fourth with $15.55 million in ticket purchases.

Paris Hilton’s neighbors can rejoice, the heiress is moving out of the neighborhood. Hilton has put her Hollywood Hills home on the market for a whopping $4.25 million.

Shes not moving because her neighbors and all the problems that the paps cause but she wants a larger house in a gated community, you know atleast 10 million plus.

Besides the paparazi hanging out at Paris’ house at all times, the new trend was fans hanging there to see a glimpse of the heiress. So basically, it was a big circus at all times.

The house is about 3,000 square feet and Paris bought the home back in 2004 for about $2.9 million. Thats a nice profit right there!

Nicole Richie pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced to serve four days in her choice of city or county jail. She was credited the fifth day for the six hours she served after being arrested. Nicole was also fined $2,048 and ordered to complete a 21 day alcohol education course, and to serve  three years of probation.

I guess this is the cool thing to do these days, all of the glamorous Celebrity girls are getting DUI’s!

Harry Potter fans now have something to look forward to after the final movie is released. JK Rowling has made it known that she will be creating a in depth Harry Potter encyclopedia.

The epilogue of her final book only offers clues to what happens in the years after Harry’s schooldays, so fans will be delighted to hear plans for an encyclopedia are under way.

In an exclusive interview with American Television, Rowling confirmed she “probably will” publish more details about her beloved characters.

She said the encyclopedia would include background stories of characters she has already written but had to cut - such as Harry’s school friend Dean Thomas.

She also said the book would include details of a new headmaster at Hogwarts, and who was teaching defence against the dark arts at the magical school.

“I’m not going to do it tomorrow because I’d really like a break,” Rowling said, “so you may be waiting”.

Wow, this lady is terrible, you could pull anyone off the street and they would do a better job then she did. Holly was on “What’s The Buzz”, promoting her show on TNT, “Saving Grace”.

“Saving Grace” debuted Monday night with big numbers - an average of 6.4 million viewers at 10:00 P.M., which made it the most watched cable series premiere of the year thus far. It certainly has “The Closer” with Kyra Sedgwick to thank for that, as “Saving Grace” retained 86% of “The Closer’s” viewers.
