Beyonce’s “B’Day” Party May Be Over

Beyonce has recently pulled editons of her “B’Day – Deluxe Edition” album and video anthology due to a pending lawsuit over her cover of of Des’ree’s “I’m Kissing You.” The singer and her label have agreed to stop distributing the albums and DVDs that include the song.

The Royalty Network, publishers for Des’ree, filed an agreement recently that Columbia and Sony would “engage in no gurther distribution” of the album or video anthoglogy until a preliminary injunction hearing on May 4th. The Royalty Network is seeking $150,000 in damages and an injunction to recall the deluxe edition from stores. The origninal song that’s causing so much controversy for Beyonce became a hit for Des’ree song when it appeared in the Leonardo DiCaprio/ Claire Danes movie “Romeo + Juliet” in 1996.
