New career for Adam Sandler as late night talk show host?

Adam Sandler is stepping in for Dav.id Letterman to host “The Late Show” tonite. According to a report by the Associated Press, Letterman showed up for work but was unable eto stay for the taping. An unnamed network spokesman is attributing Letterman’s absence to “a stomach bug.”

David Letterman had a leave of absence following his heart surgery, but this is thought to be the first time the funny man showed up for work and was unable to perform. Adam Sandler was scheduled for a guest appearance on the late night program and graciously agreed to host the show for the night. Sandler’s guests will be Don Cheadle, Danica Patrick, and musical guest Lucinda Williams.

We’ll be watching tonite to see how Sandler handles his new gig
