Eminem wanted in Ireland

Posted on March 13, 2007

A Dublin High Court judge recently requested that Eminem provide testimony under oath explaining why he backed out of a sold-out show at Slane Castle in 2005. The rapper’s answers are considered a potentially critical part of a civil lawsuit brought by the promoter against three insurance companies refusing to cover the costs of the broken deal. It’s reported that $3 million dollars is at stake in the compensation lawsuit.

Eminem had been scheduled to headline the Sept. 17, 2005 concert as part of the European leg of his Anger Management Tour, but Slim Shady cancelled only weeks before the show. The rapper claimed he was suffering from exhaustion as the reason for his unexpected cancellation. Eminem was admitted to a rehab facility for his addiction to sleeping pills shortly after this incident. The company organizing the show, MCD, refunded more than the 80,000 tickets that had been purchased in less than an hour by fans in Ireland.
